Cabbage Poriyal / Cabbage Stir Fry Recipe

Cabbage chopped – 1 Cup
Onion – 1 Small or Shallots/Small Onion – 5
Green Chillies – 1
Split Moong Dal – 3 Tablespoon
Curry Leaves – 1 spring
Mustard – 1/2 teaspoon
Oil – 1 tablespoon
Step by Step Photos on how to make Cabbage Stir Fry:
- Soak the moong dal in water for 10 minutes.
- Chop cabbage and onion and set aside. I have grated cabbage as i feel this is the easier way. Or it can be chopped or can be cut in a food processor.
- Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard and wait until it splutters. Add the soaked Moong dal and fry it for 2 minutes. and Add onion, green chilli and curry leaves and fry them until onion becomes glossy.
- Add the chopped cabbage and cook them. Add salt to taste. Just sprinkle a tablespoon of water if required. Do not add any more water.
Cabbage Poriyal / Cabbage Stir Fry is served with hot steamed rice and any strong flavored gravy like Puli Kulambu / Tamarind Gravy
