Murungaikai Aviyal / Drumstick in Coconut Gravy
Murungaikai Aviyal / Drumstick in Coconut Gravy is a healthy side dish for rice
Servings: 4
Ingredients
- 4 Drumstick
- Fistful Curry Leaves
- 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds
- 10 Pods Garlic
- 2 Teaspoon Sambar Powder
- Required Salt
To Grind and Paste
- ⅓ Cup Coconut Grated
- 2 Teaspoon Fennel Seeds
- ⅓ Cup Water
Instructions
- Chop drumstick into 2 inch pieces. Cut open them and set aside.
- Grind all the ingredients mentioned under to grind and paste into a paste and blend them into a smooth paste.
- Heat Oil in a frying Pan. Add in Jeera and allow it to splutter. Add curry leaves and saute them.
- Add drumstick and saute then for few minutes.
- Add in the ground coconut paste, sambar powder and cook them.
- Cook until the drumstick is cooked well.
- Nutritious Murungaikai Aviyal ready to be served with Rice and any simple gravy.
Notes
- While buying murungikai choose smooth ones. The Hard ones are bitter in taste.
