  • 1 Cup Green Peas
  • 1/4 Cup Ghee
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 3/4 Cup sugar
  • 15 Almonds
  1. Wash and clean the Green Peas. Add them into a blender and make a puree out of it.

  2. Heat ghee in a wok or a heavy bottom pan and add in the nuts into it and roast until golden brown.

  3. Remove the nuts from ghee and set them aside.

  4. Add in the Green Peas puree into the same ghee and start cooking.

  5. Stir them continuously. Make sure not to burn the mixture.

  6. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes or until the mixture is cooked completely.

  7. Add in milk and keep cooking until the milk evaporates.

  8. Add in sugar and give a quick stir.

  9. Addition of sugar releases water. Keep cooking until the moisture evaporates.

  10. cook until the mixture reaches the halwa consistency.

  11. Garnish with the roasted nuts. Switch off the flame.

  12. Halwa can either be served hot or cold.
