    Capsicum Green Gram Sprouts Pulao

    I always feel sprouts and veggies must be a regular part of our diet. Capsicum Green Gram sprouts pulao is one such recipe that has colourful veggies with mild spices. This is one way i can easily make my little girl eat sprouts. The sprouts pulao is a best fit for a lunch box recipe. Sprouting green gram is very easy. Soak green gram in water overnight. In the morning drain and pack them in a muslin cloth or a hot box. These sprouts can be found in grocery stores too. This pulao is an instant and easy one pot meal with mild spices that can be served with Raitha or papad.

    Capsicum Green Gram Sprouts Pulao

    Capsicum Green Gram Sprouts Pulao is an easy instant one pot meal
    Course: Main Course

    Ingredients

    • 1.5 Cup Cooked Basmati Rice
    • ½ Cup Chopped Capsicum
    • ½ Cup Sprouted Green Gram
    • 1 Onion
    • 1 Tablespoon Ghee
    • 1 Teaspoon Jeera / Cumin Seeds
    • 1 Teaspoon Garam Masala Powder

    Instructions

    • Soak moong gal / Green Gram overnight. In the morning drain the water and keep it packed in a muslin cloth or in a hot box. Leave it as it is for 24 hours. Grean Gram sprouts faster than any other pulses. 
    • Heat ghee in a wok. Add in Cumin Seeds and allow it to splutter.
    • Add in Onion and saute until glossy. Add in Chopped Capsicum and saute them until they are cooked well.
    • Add in the sprouts. Saute for few minutes. Add in the Garam Masala Powder and salt to taste. Saute for few more minutes.
    • Add in the cooked rice and Mix them well. Switch off the flame.
    • Serve Green gram Capsicum pulao with any raitha and papad.

    Notes

    • Sprouting increases the nutrition value.
    • Instead of capsicum veggies like carrot and beans and cabbage can also be added.

    2. Add onion and saute until glossy. Add in capsicum and saute until the veggies cook well. I used Green yellow and red capsicum. Add in the green gram sprouts. Saute for few minutes.step 8
    3. Add in garam masala and salt to taste and saute for few minutes. Add in the cooked basmati rice and mix them gently.step 6

      This is a wonderful power packed pulao. It is tough to make kids eat sprouts. This type of colourful recipes make them eat it without knowing the ingredients.

      That is perfect for lunch box. I use sprouts in curries or salads or even noodles. Never tried it with rice, coming to think of it. Will definitely try soon though. Lovely pictures too, by the way!
