Drumstick Blossom Pakoda / Murungai Poo Pakoda is one of the crispy and yummy snack. This pakoda is the point when my pakoda fever stuck my little girl too. We both loved it and enjoyed the whole evening with a bowl of pakoda and black coffee. Mix veg Pakoda , Palak Pakoda, Paneer Pakoda, Chicken Pakoda are the other crispy recipes that you can find in my space.

    Course: Snack
    Cuisine: Indian
    Servings: 2

    Ingredients

    • 1 Cup Murungai Poo
    • 1 Small Onion Chopped
    • 4 Tablespoon Coriander Leaves Chopped
    • ¼ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
    • ¾ Teaspoon Chilli powder
    • ¾ Teaspoon Coriander Powder
    • ½ Cup Gram Flour
    • 1 Chopped Red Chillis
    • Water as Required
    • Salt to Taste

    Instructions

    • Remove all the stems from the drumstick Blossom. Take them in a mixing Bowl.
    • Add in chopped onion and Coriander leaves.
    • Add in Gram flour, Chilli powder, Coriander powder, Turmeric powder and salt to taste.
    • Add in required water and make them into a thick pasty consistency.
    • Heat oil in a frying pan.
    • When the oil is hot enough simmer the flame. Take 1 tablespoon of batter and drop into hot oil. Deep fry them.
    • Once done then, remove from oil and place them in an absorbent paper so that the excess oil is absorbed.
    • Serve them hot with a cup of tea

    Notes

    • The pakoda batter must not be too water or it wont hold its shape while dropped into hot oil.
    • If the pakoda batter is powdery it would spread in the hot oil while dropped in.
    • You can add in chopped green chillis. I avoided thos since my little girl does not like it.

These look delicious. Will have to keep an eye open to see if I can find some drumstick flowers to make these or I'll have to wait for my drumstick tree to grow bigger before trying this.
