    Mutton Pepper Masala

July 14, 2016 By Anlet Prince 2 Comments

Mutton Pepper masala is a simple variation from the regular mutton side dishes. This is a easy and basic recipe. This is a semi dry recipe. Pepper is added as the main ingredient while cooking mutton. Adding pepper gives a different taste to the mutton. This recipe can be prepared and had alongside any pulao or rotis. Just the pressure cooking takes some time. Otherwise the this can be completed in 15 minutes. Mutton Pepper Masala can be served as a side dish with Chappati, Dosa or idli. It can be served as a side dish with rice and Mutton Gravy.

    • Once the onion is sauted glossy add chopped tomatoes and saute them until mushy.
    • Add the pressure cooked mutton pieces only and saute them for 5 minutes.
    • Add pepper powder, coriander powder and required salt and add the ¼ cup of mutton stock reserved from step 3. Keep cooking until the water disappears.
    • Garnish with coriander leaves.
    • Tasty Mutton Pepper masala ready to serve.

    Notes

    • Adjust the spice requirements according to your taste. Mine was a spicy version.
    • For me the mutton was tender in 5 whistles. If your mutton is harder cook until the mutton gets tender.
