    Coconut Mutton Roast

    Here is another Mutton recipe. Mutton Roast with coconut masala. Coconut is the Key ingredient that brings in taste this recipe. The coconut is ground with other spices like bay leaves cinnamon and many more masalas. This is like a dry side dish recipe that can be served with rice or rotis. Mutton is a sure ingredient in any Christmas menu. Apt for the season. Add in the pressure cooked mutton. Cook for 2 or 3 minutes.     Coconut Mutton Roast

    Coconut Mutton Roast is a coconut rich mutton appetizer.

    Ingredients

    To Pressure Cook

    • 500 Grams Mutton
    • Water as Required
    • Salt To Taste
    • 1 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder

    For Masala

    • ½ Cup Coconut Grated
    • 5 Pods Garlic
    • 1 Inch Ginger Piece
    • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds
    • 1 Teaspoon Fennel Seeds
    • 1 Bay Leaves
    • 1 inch Cinnamon stick
    • 2 Cloves
    • 1 Teaspoon Chilli Powder

    Other Ingredients

    • 1 Tablespoon Oil
    • 1 Teaspoon Mustard
    • 10 Onion
    • Curry Leaves
    • Salt To Taste

    Instructions

    To Pressure Cook

    • Clean the Mutton Pieces. Add them into a Pressure Cooker. Add the required water, Salt, Turmeric powder and get ready to pressure cook.
    • Close the Pressure Cooker. Pressure cook the mutton for 5 whistles in medium flame or until the mutton is cooked tender. Switch off the flame.
    • Allow the pressure cooker to release pressure on its own. Open the pressure cooker. Drain the excess water. This water can be used to prepare Mutton Soup

    For the Roast

    • Add in the ingredients listed under "for Masala" and grind them into a paste with limited water.
    • Heat oil in a frying Pan. Add in the mustard seeds and allow it to splutter.
    • Add in chopped shallots and saute them until glossy.
    • Add in the curry leaves and saute them.
    • Add in the pressure cooked mutton. Cook for 2 or 3 minutes.
    • Add in the ground masala and saute them until the masala is cooked well and the masalas blend well.
    • Flavourful Mutton Roast with Coconut is now ready to serve.
