Ingredients
1CupMochai
1TeaspoonOil
½TeaspoonTurmeric Powder
Wateras required
½TeaspoonMustard
5Dry Red Chilli
2SpringCurry Leaves
3TablespoonCarrotGrated
2TeaspoonSundal Podi/Spice Mix Powder
Instructions
Soak Mochai Overnight, or atleast for 4 hours. Then drain the water add them into pressure cooker. Add limited water. Add in salt and turmeric powder. Close the pressure cooker.
Pressure Cook Mochai for 2 whistles or until soft with salt and turmeric powder. Allow the pressure to release on its own. Open the pressure cooker. Drain the excess water and set it aside.
For the tampering heat oil in a frying pan. Add in mustard, allow it to splutter. Add in dry red chillis. Add in curry leaves. Add the carrot and saute them.
Add in the mochai and saute them. Add in the sundal podi and saute until all the ingredients are cooked well.
Mochai and carrot sundal is now ready to serve.
Notes
Grated coconut can also be used for garnishing.
Onion also can be added to the tampering for nice flavour.
