Ingredients:
For Dumpling:
Raw Rice flour – 1 Cup
Salt – to taste
Ghee – 2 tablespoon
Water – as required
For Sweet Sauce:
Jaggery Powder – ¼ Cup
Water – 3 tablespoon
White Til – 2 tablespoon
Step by Step Photos on how to make Ammini Kozhukattai:
- For the Kozhukattai, Heat water in a pot. Add in the ghee. Wait until it melts.
- For the Kozhukattai, Heat water in a pot. Add in the ghee. Wait until it melts.
- Mix it into a dough like the chapati dough consistency. After the heat is down make small small balls from the dough. Heat water in a steamer. Add the small balls. Close the steamer and steam for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes open the steamer. set the kozhukattai aside.
- For the sweet sauce, heat water and jaggery in a pan. Heat until the jaggery reaches the sticky consistency or like honey. Add in the white sesame seeds at this stage.
- Add in the kozhukattai and mix it well.
- Delicious Sweet Mini Kozhukattais / Dumplings are now ready.
Tips:
- I have used ready made kozhukattai/Dumplings flour. You can use homemade raw rice flour or idiyappam flour.
- Adding ghee to the Kozhukattai flour helps to keep the dough fresh from drying out.
- I have used organic Jaggery so i haved not drained it for any dirt or impurities. If required drain jaggery mixture for dirt and impurities.
