Chicken Prawn Poppers

◀Previous Post

Poppers are one Appetiser that kids love. Easy to pop in one at a time. No exception my little girl also loves it. Chicken Prawn Poppers are one easy alternative that i tried as an after school snack for my little girl. This has now become one of her favourite munchie. Chicken and Prawn combined together gives out a good taste. Its a treat for both chicken and prawn lovers. These deep fried balls can be enjoyed with tomato sauce. They are also filling tea time snacks.

Course: Appetizer
Cuisine: Indian
Servings: 2
Author: Anlet Prince
Ingredients
  • 1/2 Cup Boneless Chicken Pieces
  • 1/2 Cup Prawns Cleaned and Deveined
  • Required Salt
  • 1.5 Teaspoon Garam Masala Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/3 Cup Bread Crumbs
  • 1/3 Cup Whole Wheat flour
Instructions
  1. Wash and clean the chicken and prawn.

  2. Pulse them in a blender until the texture is smooth. Combine them with Garam Masala Powder, Turmeric Powder and Salt. Mix them gently.

  3. Take a tablespoon of mixture and roll it in wheat flour.

  4. Beat an egg and get ready for the outer coating.

  5.  Place the ball in beaten egg mixture. Again roll this in bread crumbs.

  6. Do this to the entire contents. Heat oil in a wok for deep frying. Add in few balls and deep fry them in medium flame.

  7. Once they start browning remove them from oil and place them in an absorbant paper for the excess oil to be absorbed.

  8. Prawns and Chicken poppers can be served as a snack with tomato sauce.

Recipe Notes
  • Blend Prawn and Chicken seperately. Since prawns are softer and tender they can be blended easily than chicken.
