June 30, 2016 By Anlet Prince 1 Comment

Jack Fruit is a delicious fruit. It has a pleasant odour. Any recipe made with jackfruit would taste heavenly. Jack Fruit Halwa / Jack Fruit preserve / Chakka Varatti is another recipe that tastes heavenly. It is also called as jack fruit preserve(chakka Varatti) which is used to make chakka varatti payasam / Kheer. Will share this recipe soon. The difference between jackfruit preserve and halwa is that halwa is garnished with nuts and dry fruits. The Jack Fruit preserve is not garnished. Otherwise the procedure is the same. Jack fruit preserve is stored in dry air tight containers and stored for future use. Its generally prepared during summer when jack fruit is in season. It can be used as a jam with idli dosa etc. Checkout other halwa recipes here.
