Palm Fruit Drink / Nungu Sharbet

May 25, 2017 By Anlet Prince 14 Comments

Palm Fruit Drink / Nungu Sharbet is a simple and easy to make drink. I first  happened to taste this drink when i was in my 2nd class. It was in a summer vacation we were in our Grandparent's place. It was my uncle who brought us this wonderful juice. From that day  I am in Love with this drink and i would simply fall for it. So as my daughter.  Till today i can find this drink in the same taste. Whenever i visit Kanyakumari i make it a point to taste this. In Shops this Drink is served with the outer skin of the Palm fruit. Very tender fruits are used for this drink. When i prepare it at home i discard the outer skin. Now let make this recipe.

Nungu / Palm Fruit is a natural coolant to the body. It has a mild taste. This fruit is rich in iron and vitamins. The flesh is similar to a litchi and tastes similar to tender coconut. If you are in a weight loss Spree  try these as starters. Keeps the tummy full. They do the very good job of preventing dehydration in summer. These give a cooling effect to the body. This is the best of summer drinks that we could get in summer to beat the heat. It tastes great too. Click here for other Textured drinks. Find Out other Nungu/Ice Apple Recipes here.

Even I love to taste nungu without the skin. It is so yum. The mixing of both nannari and nungu sounds amazing. A perfect cooler for this scorching heat.
