    Prawn Curry Leaves Masala / karuvepilai Eral Varuval is a Curry Leaves flavoured roasted Prawns. Prawns are marinated in Salt, Chilli Powder and Turmeric Powder for 30 minutes. It is then cooked in the curry leaves masala. It gives out a nice flavourful Appetizer. It can be served as a side dish with rice or rotis.

    Prawn Curry Leaves Masala / Karuvepilai Eral Varuval is a flavourful prawn appetizer.

    Ingredients

    • 1 Onion Chopped
    • 1.5 Tablespoon Oil
    • ½ Teaspoon Mustard
    • ½ Teaspoon Cumin Seeds
    • Salt To Taste
    • 2 Spring Curry Leaves

    To Grind and Paste

    • 4 Small Onion
    • 4 Spring Curry Leaves
    • 3 Medium Garlic
    • ½ Inch Ginger
    • Salt To Taste
    • 1 Big Green Chilli
    • 1 Teaspoon Coriander Powder
    • 2 Tablespoon Coconut Grated

    For Marinating Prawns

    • 200 Grams Prawns After Cleaning
    • Salt To Taste
    • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
    • 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
    • ½ Teaspoon Red Chilli Powder

    Instructions

    • Add all the ingredients mentioned under to marinate and leave it for 30 minutes.
    • Add all the ingredients mentioned under to grind and paste into a blender and blend them into a smooth paste. Set it aside.
    • Heat oil in a wok and add in mustard and cumin seeds. Allow them to splutter.
    • Add in onion and saute until glossy. Add in curry leaves and saute them.
    • Add in the green paste. Saute them. Add in the marinated prawns and saute them.
    • Cook until the water released from the prawns evaporates and the prawns blend well with the masala.
    • Flavoural Prawns Curry Leaves Masala is now ready to serve.

    Notes

    • Prawns take very less time to cook. Do not cook for a long time or they would turn rubbery.
    • Do not increase the amount of curry leaves or the dish turns bitter.
    • Add small onion adds more taste to the recipe.
